We become more like Jesus by beholding His glory.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 CORINTHIANS 3:18).
We can learn 4 things from the above Scripture:
1. The Bible is a mirror that reflects to us the glory of Christ.
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord..."
2. We are changed into that same image by beholding or contemplating that glory
Scripture continues and reads we "are changed into the same image..."
Whose image? The Lord's image.
Wow! Just think about that for a second. 🤯
3. This change happens progressively over time.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory..."📈
Rome was not built in a day. 🏛️😊
4. This progressive change is effected by the power of the Holy Spirit.
"are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." ✨
So, how do we become more like Christ?
According to Scripture, we grow in Christlikeness by beholding or contemplating the glory of Christ as it is revealed to us in Scripture. In other words, we become more like Jesus by meditating on Scripture.
